The Hawaiʻi Center for AIDS (HICFA) advances research, education, and clinical care for HIV and other emerging infections in Hawaiʻi. Our work includes leading multi-center clinical trials, conducting specialized laboratory research, training the next generation of healthcare professionals and clinician scientists, and providing expert infectious disease care across the state.
Our Mission
The Hawaiʻi Center for AIDS is dedicated to:
- Advancing clinical and translational research to identify optimal therapies for HIV, HIV-related health conditions, and other emerging infections.
- Conducting basic science research to deepen our understanding of HIV, HIV-related health conditions, and other emerging infections.
- Expanding access to clinical trials for people living with HIV and emerging infections in Hawaiʻi.
- Translating research discoveries into improved clinical care for the people of Hawaiʻi.
